Well Aug 2007.. damn that has come along fast! I have been taking a break from doing any photos over the last 6 months, however as I have been getting better my interest has been resparked. I have purchased a few cheap cameras including a 1959 Agfa Optima S which I am yet to run a film through. Other purchases included possible the worst camera known to man a panoramic focus free plastic wonder which I have a few photos I need to upload when I get my negative scanner back working.
So its time to dust off my lenss check my film is in-date and head out in the wide world? Well nice theory but with no people around me in Manchester interested in photography for advice and support I am still finding myself stuck with what to do. Buying film and processing on a budget also has its limitations, I have really fallen for Ilfords HP5 with is lovely grain and general crapness it really suits my style however with all my local developers charging between £10-12 for a 12 day service (36exp) and even then a less than satisfactory result in the prints (negs are ok though) I think its time to save up and purchase some developing fluid and get involved with my own developing again. This as mentioned could be a problem as I said I have no one to give me any hands on advice. (However dA does help).
Despite my despondency I do have a few things in the pipeline. Its my birthday 13th of August (Monday) and I am planning a pub-crawl with hopefully a few people to actually have some sort of memory of this evening I am taking my 80s Polaroid camera and a few packs of film to create a montage of what happened hopefully in a chronological order with an idea to fill an A3 glass frame I have. Im sure Ill add the finished item if it comes to fruition.
Other things I have been up with regards to cameras is titting around trying to do some photos of the local historical house (Bramhall Hall), and in the process being called a pedo and a perve because I have a proper camera. Ah well.
Huzzah for the internet!

Thank you for your friendship! I'll try to be worth watching. So brother, are you gonna put some film in the Super Color or just take pictures of it???? Let me encourage you to do it. Square Polaroid is a very freeing medium. Go James, go!
